Newmar Coaches
One patent-pending system in the service bay softens the water, filters it, and gives you a rinse that dries without spots. We have built one into a Dutch Star. Softening and filtration serve the connected plumbing; the dedicated DI stage supplies the exterior final rinse.
You bought a Newmar to keep. Hard water doesn't care.
Newmar owners keep their coaches. That is most of the reason people buy one, and it is why the wash matters more here than on a rig somebody plans to trade in three years. But every park and every rally lot hands you a different supply, with hardness that varies by location. Minerals dry to spots on high-gloss paint. They sit on glass and brightwork until the glass stops looking clear. Out of sight, behind the bay doors, they build scale in the water heater and the pump. You specified this coach down to the cabinet pulls, and then you feed it whatever is coming out of the pedestal.
The finish shows everything
Hard water dries to chalky spots on a coach you just finished washing, and on glass and brightwork it keeps working until the haze stops buffing out. Repainting or re-polishing a coach at this level is not a small job. Not letting the spots land in the first place is the cheaper plan.
What happens behind the bay doors
Mineral-heavy water builds scale inside the water heater, and it can carry the taste and smell of whatever sat in the campground line before you got there. None of that is visible until it becomes a service call, usually somewhere you did not plan to stop.
Soft water in. A rinse you can walk away from.
H2O Simplified is a patent-pending 3-in-1 unit that lives in the coach's service bay and goes where the coach goes. A true deionized rinse comes off the same unit that softens and filters, fed by a suitable potable fresh-water hookup within the installation's operating limits. We have built one into a Newmar Dutch Star, so this is not a theory about where it might fit.
- Softening: ion exchange takes the calcium and magnesium out before the water reaches your plumbing, which helps reduce new scale in the water heater and connected fixtures. The showers feel different. That part you notice the first night.
- Filtration: media selected to address specific supply-water issues. Carbon can reduce chlorine taste and odor; confirm the ratings for your configuration.
- True spot-free rinse: deionized water for the last pass, so you rinse the coach and walk away. No towels, no chamois, no ladder work chasing drips down the side.
- Installed, not stowed: it is plumbed into the bay, not a tote you drag out and put back. Nothing to set up at the pedestal and nothing to leave behind at the last campground.
